EAH-SYSU holds Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2025

The Eighth Affiliated Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University (EAH-SYSU) held its 2025 Commencement Ceremony on June 24. Professor Hui Huang, Vice President of EAH-SYSU, presided over the ceremony.

In her address, Professor Yanming Chen, President of EAH-SYSU, extended congratulations to the graduates on completing their academic journey in EAH-SYSU. Professor Chen expressed her hope that as the inaugural medical graduating class embarking on Sun Yat-sen University's new century endeavor, the graduates would carry forward the legacy with noble character: applying professional knowledge to serve society, offering compassionate care to warm humanity, and embracing their pivotal role as torchbearers bridging past and future.

Professor Hui Huang solemnly recited Dr. Sun Yat-sen's graduation exhortation, with all graduates listening in awed silence. Professor Tong Wang, Vice President of EAH-SYSU, then led the graduates in reaffirming the Oath Of A Medical Student.

Bing Dong, a doctoral graduate of EAH-SYSU, spoke as the representative of graduates. Zhe Wang, a supervisor of pathology department, delivered a speech as the supervisor representative.

Professor Hui Huang announced the decision on the conferral of master’s and doctoral degrees, the commendation of Excellent Graduates and the list of Excellent Doctoral and Master's Theses for 2025.

Following the Degree Conferment Ceremony, Weiting Lin, Secretary of Party Committee, delivered a keynote speech themed "Responsibility," emphasizing that medicine is the science of national strength. “As you've studied in this era of national rejuvenation, you bear the historic mission as the generation tasked with fortifying our nation's prowess. Stand firm in your ideals and convictions, cultivate patriotism, develop outstanding skills, and work hard to contribute to Chinese modernization.”

Here we extend our warmest wishes to the Class of 2025, who now close a transformative chapter of their lives at EAH-SYSU. Cheers to these graduates as they carry EAH-SYSU’s legacy forward, stepping boldly into futures that blend academic rigor with social responsibility.
