Special Care Ward 1

The Special Care Ward 1 is affiliated with the Department of Integrative (Special Needs) Medicine of our hospital and serves as a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment ward. It is primarily responsible for the healthcare of leaders of government agencies at all levels in Shenzhen and Futian District, as well as employees of enterprises and public institutions, scientific researchers, outstanding individuals from various professions, and outstanding talents. The ward covers multiple disciplines, including internal medicine, surgery, traditional Chinese medicine, and rehabilitation. It provides “four priority” star-level medical services, which include priority registration, priority consultation, priority examination and priority treatment. We adhere to the principle of “serving patients whole heartedly”, implement the concept of professional and personalized service, and maintain high medical ethics. We strictly enforce a three-tiered physician rounding system, standardize diagnosis and treatment protocols, and ensure a high level of quality and efficiency in medical work.

The Special Care Ward 1 fully integrates and optimizes the high-quality medical resources of the entire hospital. Relying on a team of experts in special needs medicine composed of experts and professors from various affiliated hospitals of Sun Yat-sen University, the ward operates under a responsibility system led by an attending expert professor, with specially invited experts providing one-on-one diagnosis and treatment services. Guided by the needs of patients, the ward implements a medical model of multidisciplinary collaboration, fully adhering to the work requirements of “precise diagnosis and treatment and accelerated processes.” The department has a number of middle and senior-level clinicians with excellent technical skills and comprehensive expertise, specializing in cardiovascular, endocrine, respiratory, nephrology and general practice. They possess extensive experience in the diagnosing and treating common and frequently occurring diseases in internal medicine and have significant expertise in managing critical conditions such as acute heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, acute arrhythmia, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, acute pancreatitis, and diabetic ketoacidosis.

The medical team of the Special Care Ward 1 is led by a chief physician, professor, medical doctor, and doctoral supervisor, and includes 20 medical staff members, such as deputy chief physicians, associate professors, medical doctors, postdoctoral researchers, master's degree supervisors, attending physicians, and resident physicians. The nursing team is led by a deputy head nurse, and 13 skilled nursing staff members of various levels collaborating in the 1,800-square-meter treatment area, which includes 30 beds. The department features a professional resuscitation room equipped with over ten sets of professional medical rescue equipment, including monitors, micro pumps, infusion pumps, cardiac pacemakers, insulin pumps, etc., to fully ensure the safety of all admitted patients.
